New Location

We have successfully launched play at this new location. The Regional Sports Center at 32nd and Main in Springfield has opened its doors to our table tennis group. The space here is huge! And, we have already expanded to 5 tables!!

The club had one table in storage (Thanks John and Frankie!) and had originally moved this table to the Center to get things going. The 2nd and 3rd tables were purchased soon after (thanks to craigslist) especially for this new venture. And recently, a 4th table was obtained for free. Since then, we have continually upgraded to where we now have 5 prime tables!

Our time here is 9am - 12:00 noon on Mondays and Thursdays. There is an ongoing "pay as you play" charge at this location. It is $2.00 per person per day. The Center asked us if we could always be sure to have one of our members in attendance to monitor the event. So far, this does not seem to be a problem.

If this turns out to be a successful venture, the door is open to negotiate even more tables and more times. We are already in position to let beginners have their own table. Also, if it turns out that women would like to have their own table, we will be able to accommodate that too.

So, if you would like to see this expand, please support the effort by the many (especially Dave, Diane, Trish, and Doug) who have worked to make this possible. Come and play... and help to guide the new players. Who knows where this will go!
